October is a great time to visit local pumpkin patches and harvest festivals and truly experience the warmth the season brings with family and friends. Take in the beautiful display of changing leaves surrounding the city and participate in all the seasonal festivities before they end!
Toronto After Dark Film Festival (Oct. 11th – 19th)
Grab some popcorn and prepare to be spooked at Toronto’s After Dark Film Festival, located at Cineplex Scotiabank Theatre on Richmond Street West. This event showcases screenings of sci-fi, horror and thrillers, with the addition of new featured and short films that will have you jumping out of your seats. Join in afterwards for themed nights, Pub Nights After Dark and visits from the filmmakers themselves!
Hops and Harvest Festival (Oct. 13th – 14th)
Satisfy your taste buds with fall flavours! Enjoy great food, craft beers and an assortment of farm fresh produce. This festival takes place at Kelso Conservation Area, only minutes away from Starlane’s community of Saddle Ridge in Milton. The park is also open for guests to explore the trails and hike to see the stunning view atop the conservation area.
Casa Loma Legends of Horror; Haunted House (Month of October)
For the daredevils brave enough to enter the eerie gates at Casa Loma, during the month of October, the castle will transform into the creepiest and most terrifying Haunted House in the GTA. Walk through dark spaces within the tunneled walls into the unknown.
PumpkinFest at Downey’s Farm (Month of October)
Pick the perfect pumpkin at Downey’s Farm in Caledon. Throughout the month of October, Downey’s farm will be hosting a fun filled PumpkinFest that will feature fall-related activities and entertainment. Visit the website for the full schedule of events. Toronto Soup Festival (Oct. 20th – 21st)
With the changing season comes cooler weather, so why not stop by the Toronto Soup Festival for a warm delight. Located at Garrison Common, bring the whole family to taste a variety of soups from different vendors and meet the chefs behind the steamy deliciousness.
Walk Through Town
Experience a new kind of adventure in Waterdown by attending one (or all) of their Halloween walking tours. Once the sun comes down and the moon lights up the night sky, pass through the village with your fellow neighbours.
